Thuja is one of the most popular varieties and a good substitute for green Leylandii trees. It has gloss evergreen foliage with fan like leaves. 
It is easy to manage and creates a great dense hedge for privacy. It is a slower growing type of tree so no need for regular pruning. It stays in a sharp tidy clump only requiring 1 or 2 trims a year.
